The New Jersey Federation of Dog Clubs has established a scholarship program for Veterinary students from New Jersey. Funds are accrued throughout the year from the sales of the New Jersey Federation’s publication Pure Breed Resource and Rescue Directory and from donations.
Eligibility and Award
One or more scholarships of at least $1,000 will be awarded. Qualifying students must have completed one or more years of a post-graduate Veterinary program of an accredited University or Veterinary School. The scholarship is available to New Jersey students attending the Veterinary School.
The deadline for applications is January 31. As the scholarship will be awarded every year until canceled, you may retain a copy of the application for your files. All correspondence should be addressed to the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee at the address provided with the application.
Process for Selecting a Winner
The Scholarship Committee will meet after February 1 to determine the winner(s).
The Committee will accept only fully completed applications. This includes:
a) Application form fully completed
b) Two letters of reference
c) Proof of residency in New Jersey
The Committee will judge the applicant based upon the following categories:
a) Financial need
b) Academic excellence
c) Career goals
d) Recommendations
The Committee will arrive at the consensus winner(s) and a check will be sent to the College or University for the benefit of the winner(s).
